Battlefield V is said to be the most immersive title in the franchise but for now we can only speculate since the game itself releases in 4 months. DICE keeps revealing more and more information about the game with the newest one being that there will be special Battlefield V Crash Animations, just like we’ve seen in the reveal trailer.
We already knew that Battlefield V will feature dynamic explosions, creating realistic destruction throughout the game’s modes. Even killing another player will be done in a realistic way, affecting the environment in its wake. Now we get to find out that the Battlefield V Crash Animations will have another role to play in the upcoming title, since there will be an airborne feature, as DICE revealed while answering to a related question on Twitter:
NEWS: DICE is doing additional work on the “crash landings” for airplanes going down in #Battlefield V and you’ll see more at EA PLAY!
With reference to fortifications, players will also be able to dig holes with shovels in select places. Stay tuned for more details.
As previously detailed, when structures collapse in Battlefield V, you won’t see pre-determined animations – but dynamic sequences based on physics, materials, and the hardware being used. If you shoot a projectile that blows up inside a house, the walls will crack from the inside, making debris fly outwards. Driving a tank into a building makes the debris move inwards etc. No matter how a building is destroyed, different parts of it will crack, move, and then crumble in a more time-extended way than in previous titles, where the fun of destruction ended quicker.
This announcement makes even more sense if you go and watch the Battlefield V reveal trailer once more. The amount of destruction and crushes featured in the trailer will make you want to dive into war at all costs. We can’t help but notice how different the game feels just by the looks of it from its predecessor, marking a new era for the franchise.
