Anime fans will be happy to know that the Black Clover: Quartet Knights release date has been announced by Bandai Namco this morning. In a press release sent out by the Japanese publisher, the release date has been revealed for September 14th, 2018 on PC and PS4 for the Americas. The game will release a day earlier on September 13th for its home country of Japan.
For those don’t know about the game’s origins or didn’t know about its existence at all, Black Clover: Quartet Knights is a video game adaptation of the hit anime shounen series Black Clover that is currently airing right now in Japan and here in the West. Both the anime and game follow the story of Asta and Yuno as they live in a world where magic is everything, and they hope to someday become the Wizard King.
Black Clover: Quartet Knights will feature an exclusive, original storyline that isn’t already featured in the manga and anime series. The game is a four versus four 3D brawler that has players battle against other wizards both offline and online. Each playable Magic Knight in the game has one of three specializations – attack, defense, and support – so finding the right combination of four knights for your team is key to winning.
Black Clover: Quartet Knights promises graphics inspired by the anime series and dynamic third-person action that is meant to capture the feel of the fight scenes from the show and manga. Unfortunately, if the newest trailer is anything to go off of, it seems that this release will only feature the Japanese voice acting with English subtitles. Though there is a popular Funimation English dub of the show running right now, it seems we won’t be getting English voices in this game.
