Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Preparation Guide

While there will be a lot of things you will be doing in Shadowkeep, there are some things you must do before Monday’s 24-hour maintenance. I’ve compiled a list of tasks you should do in Destiny 2 before Monday.

  1. Dismantle all your Eververse items for Bright Dust. Bungie confirmed that starting Shadowkeep, Eververse items will dismantle into Shards or Glimmer. So, hoard as much Bright Dust as you can before Shadowkeep.
  2. Dismantle excess Weapon Mods for Mod Components. Make sure you keep at least one copy of each mod. According to Bungie, “Weapon mods are now treated as reusable unlocks instead of consumables; any mods you have in your inventory will be converted to unlock.”Keep in mind, this only applies for Weapon Mods and NOT Armor Mods, you will still be using Armor 1.0 sets, so keep armor mods in your inventory.
  3. Redeem any Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit bounty you have completed as it will be gone after the maintenance is completed on Tuesday. Bungie said, “Any Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard completed bounties need to be turned in before maintenance begins on 9/30 as these changes will reset them; other bounties—Gunsmith, clan, Eververse, etc.—can still be claimed after Oct 1.”
  4. Equip your ready-to-go guns on your character. It’s most likely that DIM and Ishtar Commander will be down for some time after launch.
  5. Hoard as many materials as you can before Shadowkeep. If you don’t know, Bungie is fixing the Forge Planetary Material farm. So, if you want to farm these materials, do it now.

These are all the things I could think about what you should do before Shadowkeep’s maintenance.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
