EA Sports Releases UFC 3 Notorious Edition For PS4, Xbox Before UFC 229
Just one day before Conor McGregor will step back into the Octagon, EA Sports has a new digital download version for their UFC game available. It just so happens to pay tribute to McGregor too. The new UFC 3 “Notorious” Edition has now gone on sale for mixed martial arts game fans to pick up. The news comes just ahead of McGregor’s latest anticipated MMA fight where he’ll try to reclaim one of his championships.
EA announces UFC 3 Notorious Edition
This Saturday, MMA fans will watch as Conor McGregor battles Khabib Nurmagomedov at the UFC 229 pay-per-view in Las Vegas. On Friday (Oct. 5), the EA Sports UFC Twitter account sent out the image (below) showing off the cover for the special Notorious Edition of the UFC 3 game. They indicated that this new digital download game is on sale from now until October 16.

Some fans have already taken issue with the cover, though. On the image above, McGregor has two UFC Championship belts draped over his shoulders. He held the two belts simultaneously (Lightweight and Featherweight) at one point in his career.
As of UFC 205 in 2016, he defeated Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight title. That made him a dual-weight champion. However, he was forced to vacate (or was stripped of) the title just two weeks later due to “lack of activity” within the division. Now he’ll try to win that title back in Saturday night’s main event fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
UFC 3 Notorious Edition Details
The digital UFC 3 Notorious Edition not only includes the base game but a number of additional bonuses. For example, gamers who purchase the edition can add “one permanent Champion fighter” to their Ultimate Team. Among the choices are Georges St-Pierre, Demetrious Johnson, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Anderson Silva, and of course, Conor McGregor.

Those who purchase the edition also receive 500 UFC points for Ultimate Team and five “Notorious Packs” for Ultimate Team. In addition, anyone who owns any of the previous UFC 3 editions will get several new fighters in the game. They’ll include a Hall of Fame version of former UFC star Ronda Rousey, as well as Sean O’Malley and Israel Adesanya.
The EA Sports’ UFC 3 Notorious Edition is only available as a digital download. Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One gamers can get details for how to download the game via EA’s website.
