Next month, mixed martial arts fans will get to watch UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor as the fight commences in the Octagon. The latest pay-per-view will feature a battle for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Conor McGregor will try to win the belt back from current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. As the event draws closer, EA Sports UFC 3 has been actively promoting the fight and has provided fan polls as well as video game clips to hype it up.

The EA Sports UFC 3 Twitter page has been active over the past week or so by posting new video clips and GIFs ahead of the pay-per-view. They include a new 30-second video with the fighters’ voices over game images of each of them. There’s even a virtual face off. Fans can hear McGregor in typical trash talking fashion to help build the hype for the UFC 229 event.

In addition, EA Sports asked fans to submit their best highlight clips involving Khabib and McGregor from the UFC 3 game. While they asked for the clips ahead of the latest press conference, gamers can send in any of their best highlights, whether from Khabib, McGregor, or other fighters, here at EASports.com website.

There are also a few fan polls that the EA Sports UFC Twitter posted for pre-fight predictions. One of the polls asked fans which fighter would win at UFC 229 and how. Last Wednesday, they began the poll and right now, it’s clear that fans believe McGregor will win this one by a knockout or submission. Khabib has just a bit of support, but McGregor is amongst the most popular names in MMA history.

In another poll, EA Sports asked fans flat out which of the two fighters will win. Just like the other poll, most fans believe McGregor will regain his belt once the fight has ended. In the final results, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor received 68 percent of the votes compared to 32 percent for Khabib.

In terms of their in-game UFC 3 comparisons, McGregor holds a 95 striking rating, 86 grappling, 88 stamina, and 95 health. Khabib has an 87 striking, 95 grappling, 93 stamina, and 90 health. Oddsmakers currently have the champion Nurmagomedov as the favorite to win. He’s favored at -160 compared to McGregor’s +130 underdog odds, per Vegas Insider.

UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor takes place on Saturday, October 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. However, gamers will be playing this fight out on EA Sports’ UFC 3 to decide things virtually until they can see the real battle inside the Octagon!
