Hitman 2 launches on November 13, making now the perfect time to debut its official launch trailer. For said launch trailer, developer Io Interactive has once again enlisted the talents of famed British actor Sean Bean.
Hitman 2 Launch Trailer
Last month, Io confirmed that Bean will portray Hitman 2’s first Elusive Target. Specifically, Bean will play a former MI5 agent-tuned-freelance assassin named Mark Faba. Thanks to his unique talent of faking his own death, Faba is more commonly known as “The Undying.” This is undoubtedly a reference to Bean’s long history of playing characters who meet untimely ends. Faba will show up in Hitman 2’s Miami Racetrack location starting on November 20, one week after launch.
In Hitman 2’s launch trailer, Bean serves as more of a guiding voice. His slick narration frames several of the more unconventional killing methods players can utilize. Sure, you can simply gun down your target with a silenced pistol, but that’s so boring. Why not instead use an explosive rubber duck, or a transistor radio, or a…toilet? Opportunities abound it seems. Even more unique killing implementations can be seen in this recent ‘How to Hitman’ video.
Bean’s continued presence in Hitman 2’s marketing campaign is rather curious. Not that we’re complaining, it’s just that his character will ultimately be bumped off come November 20. It would naturally be great if Bean had a larger, more permanent role in the game’s narrative. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Given how much Io likely paid to bring him on, the studio probably just wants to get its money’s worth.
Hitman 2 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Along with its single-player offerings, the sequel also has several multiplayer modes. Co-op fans can participate in the Hitman Sniper mode while the asynchronous Ghost Mode offers a more competitive scenario.
