An NBA 2K20 demo will arrive in August several weeks ahead of the game’s official release date. With that demo version of the game, players will get to test out specific aspects of NBA 2K20 before the full game arrives. The best part about it is that gamers can bring any progress they make in the demo over to the full game when it releases in early September.
NBA 2K20 demo release date & features
On Thursday (July 25), 2K announced an NBA 2K20 demo release date of August 21. The demo goes live at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (3:01 a.m. Eastern Time). It’s a free demo download available exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
With the demo, players are able to use the MyCAREER mode exclusively and create their MyPLAYER. Here’s the specifics from 2K:
“In the NBA 2K20 Demo, you can try out multiple MyPLAYER configurations to create the player that best fits your play-style, which will be carried over to NBA 2K20 at launch on September 6th.”
That should give many people the early jump they need on this popular aspect of the game. With the second season of NBA 2K League playoffs now underway, gamers are seeing different styles of players on the virtual courts. However, with an updated NBA 2K20 demo, there’s likely to be some differences in the player archetypes that gamers can build players with. Luckily the new demo will allow for that early decision-making on what MyPLAYER to go with.
