Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming Operation Grim Sky update will bring with it a lot more than just two new operators and a series of existing operator tweaks. There will be plenty of miscellaneous changes included in the update as well, and we’ve outlined several of them below.
The following miscellaneous changes were gleaned from the official Operation Grim Sky info page which Ubisoft was kind enough to post ahead of the update’s release. Operation Grim Sky is currently available to play on Siege’s test server, with a full public release coming sometime next month.
- The JTF2 operator Frost will be getting an elite ‘Huntress’ cosmetic set which includes a unique outfit, a unique victory animation, unique skins for her weaponry and Sterling MK2 LHT gadget, and a unique ‘Elite Frost Chibi’ weapon charm.
- Four unique weapon skins that can only be unlocked during the Operation Grim Sky launch period.
- Improvements for the existing Consulate map
- The Favela map will be added back into the Casual map rotation
- Required two-step authentication for PC players who want to participate in ranked matches.
- Players who don’t manually pick an operator before a match begins will no longer be forced to play as the Recruit. Instead, they’ll be assigned a randomly chosen operator from the ones they already have unlocked. The Recruit will also remain as a selectable option for those who prefer his expanded weapon and equipment loadouts.
- An updated in-game scoreboard will present relevant information more clearly and will allow players to more easily mute both the voice and text chat of disruptive teammates.
- Floor hatch reinforcements will support partial destruction
- The green filter is being removed from Echo’s Yokai drones to allow for clearer sightlines and to help distinguish them from Bulletproof Cameras and Maestro’s Evil Eye cameras.
