Toys for Bob, the development team behind the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy has announced that their title has been pushed back two months in order to give the game a little more love and care. The trilogy was scheduled to release on Sep 21, but now, Toys for Bob is shooting for a Nov 13 release date instead. Co-Studio Head of Toys for Bob, Paul Yan, posted this update on the Activision blog regarding the delay:
“Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years. We’re deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar, and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”
Toys for Bob is the same studio who recently worked on a different upgraded PlayStation series, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which just came out last year. They worked with Vicarious Visions on the PS4 version and even helped to port the game over to the Nintendo Switch.
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy will include all three of these Spyro titles: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The physical version of the game will only include the first game on the disc but by downloading an update, the other two titles will be available as well.
